The Nets are in Town

The Detroit Pistons vs. The Nets

Pistons host the 31-44 New Jersey Nets tonight at The Palace. The Nets are currently out of The Playoffs, four games behind the Hawks for the 8th seed. In all fairness to The Hawks, you may see more of the Pistons "A" team in this one. Detroit wouldn't want to hand a team on the edge of a playoff spot a (possible) easy win.

Rip Hamilton is a game time decision and Chauncey Billups expects to play tonight.

Here is a little insight about the game from A. Sherrod Blakely:

"Detroit won each of the two previous matchups this season with the Nets by an average of 20.5 points per game. Hamilton's scoring average against the Nets this season, is 20.5 points per game. ... Saunders said Cheikh Samb will continue to play some, but added the rookie won't see a ton of minutes. "I still want to play Amir a lot," Saunders said. "I still want to play Maxey (Jason Maxiell), play Walter (Herrmann), play those guys, too."

I am awainting the return of The Zoo Crew and hoping to see how Stuckey stacks up against the very quick Devin Harris.

Tip off is at 8:00 PM and will be locally broadcast on FSN Detroit. If you can't catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

Get on the Cheikh Samb bandwagon now before all the seats are taken!

lol I'm on the Herrmann bandwagon! But I've been eyeing the Samb wagon though.

Is Rip's injury serious because the playoffs is like a few weeks away?

i really think for Rips hip (that rhymes) it's more a matter of just letting him rest. No need to maybe aggrivate it, they don't need to really press for wins, so just let him rest.

Aside from that, the game was top shelf entertainment tonight. Dyess was hot fire, which is awesome since he's prolly my fave. Stuckey was great as well off the bench, the man is going to be something special in the next few years.

The Westpoint Choir sang the anthem, and it was beautiful, I'll tell ya. And Automotion did a beat street thing at halftime to all of this oldschool stuff that clogs my Ipod. It was a blast.

Good win, I've been waiting forever to see the Nets, too bad it's after Kidd was gone.

What's up with Rodney's flagrant 1?

What's up with Rodney's flagrant 1?

I was thinking the same thing Fluidics, I am going to have to check the tape.

Fun game...

Seriously, there was a foul, then a timeout. When they came back, it was a flagrant 1. Nobody saw a thing, and I'm including the refs on this.

Oh, and it's totally cool to hang on the rim for like 5 minutes now.

Way to go stuck on your first flagrant!
