They're Back - Pistons Sonics

The Detroit Pistons vs. The Sonics

The Pistons are home, for a brief stay, to take on The 16-43 Sonics tonight at the Palace. These are the games that are easily looked over, especially since the The Pistons last regular season matchup against The Celtics comes just one day after this one. The Pistons will have Chauncey back for tonight's game, but still no official word on Ratliff.

Pistons fans will get to see their first glimpse of the possible rookie of the year tonight. Kevin Durant has been playing great for Seattle despite their record. If Kevin's Rookie-Sophomore game appearance was any indication of how he will play tonight, than you can look for him to take the majority of his teams shots. He's averaging 19 per game and shooting an impressive 87% from the stripe.

I just had a long conversation with a friend about how things are so different for fans these days. When I grew up ESPN was just getting off the ground, there was no league pass and you could only watch a handful of games on TV. It was hard enough to watch your own local team let alone get to see how other teams played, well unless they were playing against your team. I look back at all those memories realize just how vivid they are. So if you as me, this is how I remember The Sonics.

Tip off is at 7:30 and will be locally broadcast on myTV20 Detroit. If you can't catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

Leave 'em in the comments.

Does anyone remember the sign at The Palace that read "Sean Kemp ate my baby" because of his relative fatness...and if you have ever read about Jason Maxiell and his delight for eating babies...this video clip is the epitomy of ironic.

few days ago i asked: what if ratliff decided to go to houston for more $$$ or/and more playing time. houston could use him, maybe make him even a starter now that yao is gone. well, here it is, nat's update on him is still not official.....i smell something fishy. there's no reason why ratliff would take longer to decide unless there is something better on the table, or something might came up.

ratliff is replacing walter hermann on the active list!!! fuck!!!! i like hermann hes way better than jarvis hayes! if anything make afflalo on the inactive! we got dixon and stuckey we dont need arron right now put him down in the d league and let him develop while we win a ship! fuckin A!

I'm with Anonymous about, Arron. He is cool, great energy guy, nothing negative has come out of him, just bright future. And look what the D-League did for Amir, he is still raw talent, but know what he is doing. Afflalo needs time and lots of playing time, and will be ready next year. But I think Walter would help us more come playoff time, and of course we needed Theo for the 5 fouls against KG and what not. But also, I doubt that Walter will replace Jarvis, have you noticed they always play at the same time, Im sure that has to do with the garbage time he gets but, I thinks its a good combo of both of them on the floor.

its just all moot at this point...we won't know until flip announced or see it in the game. so relax people.

hey anon, walter is a fav of mine just like I think most piston fans however we have to remember what brought him here, Joe wanted to get ride of Nazrs contract so be found a team who could us him and we got two players with expiring contracts... with Nazr leaving and brecez not able to fill the shoes that left the need for another big and the reason why joe made the trade for dixon, I am sure of he was able to have done something with walter he would have... I really don;t think his stay was to be this long as it is, I do feel for him he was play but I don;t think he fits into the plans... I can't see him taking aarons spot he is the only ture shooting guard to back up rip, stuckey I don't trust him enough and dixon is a point guard.. hayes backs up tay and I can;t see him being inactive.. so walter is the only one left and they only one joe does not have fitting in his plans.. besides Aaron or stuckey and even dixon will be inactive from time to time during teh playoffs for lindsay to come in.. so again walter is the only one to pick right now...

yeah but flip is garbage and is afraid of change so he will bench the better man knowing him, hayes averages 6 points or so a night, when hermann goes in for 2 minutes he gets 5 or more..so u tell me whos better!

ratliff is now officially a member of the pistons, check out the official web site

doubt he'll play as early as tonight though, not even tomorrow would be my guess

I think it would be a great idea if aaron is sent to the D-leage because of the following reasons :

1) walter will be on the active list , we all know they guy can play .

2) we get to see Juan more , backing rip and stucky backing chauncey .

its a definently win-win situation.also aaron will improve and be ready for the nest season.

thank u annon^ u know what the best decision is right now and thats let arron develop while hermann stays active during jarvis's off nights that he usually has every night, and dixon and stucky can run the front court off the bench..let arron chill let hermann do his thug dizzle and win that ship!

damn imagine if it was grant hill instead of jarvis..wow what a better team we would be..but nope

Good suggestions and comments, but please let's not second guess Joe D too much. I agree that Hermann and Dixon should get minutes over Hayes and Afflalo, but we have to trust Joe D that he knows what he's doing. This is the guy most responsible for the Pistons going to five straight east finals, soon to be six. So let's not be acting like we could run the team better than him. That being said, I will be pissed if Ratliff takes any of Amir's minutes.

Seattle is a piece of cake, let's blow 'em out early, and rest the starters for the Celts tomorrow.

Ps. who else is emotional about Favre's retirement?

rookies dont improve on the bench.

playing rookies at this point isn't gonna cost us the 2 seed (and look, it got us the 2 seed as well!)

aa and stuckey are pieces of the pistons future.

hayes/hermann/dixon probably aren't.

fuck farve!, im not second guessing joe i jus know the stats dont lie..and hermann and dixon got them..as for ratliff or amir i trust ratliff right now, more power better offensive and can block shots better.. i seriously dont get everyones infatuation with that bean pole..lol whos the next fan fav cheikh samb? hahaha u guys r so funny...but not really..

anon... so how does over-using ur starters during the reg. season in meaningless games make good use of the starters to "win now" ???
despite developing their bench pistons have the second best record in the league... in the playoffs i'll be sure we will be using our starters to win games... but if they have bad games or get in foul trouble or even worse if they get injured... at least we have a BETTER chance still winning that championship NOW, like you so want, when we're forced to play these young guys... cuz they'll actually have experience playing out there against other team's starters in an nba setting

wow all the starters were in the negatives in the +/- ... while almost our entire bench, except afflalo, were in the positives

I love HUSTLAMIR!!! He was just hustlAMIRzing.

Also gotta give a hand to my favorite baby eater... JASON MAXIELL.

Im getting kinda sick of Stuckey's decisions while driving the lane.

And regardless of what anyone says about Afflalo, I still like him... maybe a little better than Stuckey right now.

Anon 8:01,

You know what else is more embarrassing than having a "shitty" team scoring 41 points in the first half? Beating the worst team in the NBA by ONE point on your HOMECOURT then pop your jerseys as if you won the championship!

I dont have a "super hero like crush" buddy. I dont have crushes on people I know damn well I will never have a chance in hell with. This has nothing to do with a "crush"... Dixon had a good game, dont get me wrong but Afflalo has delivered on many nights.. probably not of late but regardless this has nothing to do with some kind of bullshit called a "crush." So dont talk shit if you dont know shit!
