The Pistons vs. The Clippers

The Detroit Pistons vs. The Clippers

It's still not official whether Chauncey Billups has returned to the team after leaving them to attend to a family matter back in Detroit, but it seems unlikely at this point. What does that mean? This one could get Stuckey. Rodney Stuckey could get his first NBA start tonight against the 19-37 Clippers. We may even get some time from Lindsey Hunter and Juan Dixon.

The last place Clippers are looking to avoid a fifth consecutive loss and the Pistons are looking to get back to their winning ways after the tough loss in Utah. Expect to hear plenty of Pistons fans at the Staples center tonight. Not only do we have tons of Pistons fan is LA, Prince, Afflalo and Amir Johnson all hail from the area so, you can bet they will have their own special fans in the building.

Will Amir get some court time tonight? I think there is a good chance his "head cold" is fine. It also doesn't hurt Amir's chances now that Flip realized he could have been some help in Utah.

"We got to a point where Maxey was playing really well, and we were trying to match things," Saunders said. "But we made a mistake -- we should have played him. We got in a situation where they were making such a run, and we thought at that point it was too late.First thing I said afterwards was, 'We should have played Amir, and we didn't." Via The Detroit Free Press

There you have it.

Tip off is at 10:30 PM and will be broadcast on FSN Detroit and NBATV. If you can't catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

I'm watching this one after the fact (Chris Rock is in town), so I'm leaving it to you in the comments. Oh and don't forget about the March Schedule Wallpaper.

Ill miss the begining of the game, George Carlins new HBO special is on at 10! But anyways, lets go Detroit as always. Im interested in Stuckey, I took Chauncey out of my fantasy lineup tonight and put Stuckey in for him, hopefully he has a big night.

Does anybody know what the "family problem" is that Chauncey had to come back to Michigan for? I hope everything's okay with him and his, but I'm kind of excited to see Stuckey start and hopefully we'll get a chance to see a little more of Juan Dixon. A Lindsey Hunter siting wouuld just put me over the top...

Here's to making this a winning road trip with a "W" tonight! GO PISTONS!

Awesome sheed post up. Lots of sheeeeeed coming from the crowd too.

Thornton misses both free throws off Sheed foul. The fidelity of the ball is beyond question.

Dixon is playing great.

Tay already has EIGHT assists in the first two quarters!!!

So far Sheed, Rip, and Tay are keeping us in this game. Rodney has had an okay start, I think once he gets comfortable with his jumper he can be deadly. I also liked how Dixon came out in the 1st, I think he is a much nicer addition then Brezec. If we can get Maxiell and Dyess involved more on the offensive end this game will be a for sure blowout. Oh and then there is Amir, what more can I say? "And he's BLOCKED by Amir"(George Blaha).

I love love love Juan. He's great! When he came into the game initially he got us up to a 13 point lead, from only 5, and he's been amazing ever since.
I also love how I keep hearing people in the audience yell, "Deeetroit Basketball!" Great game so far!

Wow, out of all the pistons Walter Hermann gets the loudest response from the crowd.. The crowd were going nuts whenever he would touch the ball! And especially on that gliding layup he did at the end..

I thought he played pretty decently today and definetly feel that he should be strongly considered to be the next man behind Prince..

Also, Juan showed tonight that he can flat-out score.. Maybe he could be brought into the rotation somehow during the playoffs.. I'm really liking the depth of our bench and find it hard to choose who to play out of them.

A lot of bright points.
Nice to see Stuckey play well, carrying his own in his first start.
Nice to see Prince shine at home.
Nice to see Juan Dixon, great game on his part.
As always, it's fun to see Herrmann go nuts in the end of the game.
LFun game all around.

NBA.com is incorrectly reporting that this is the first time in 276 games that Chauncey, Rip, Tay and Sheed didn't start together. Chauncey missed two games earlier in the season during the team's first west coast road trip.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I'd like to see Juan Dixon be the next guard behind Chauncey, and THEN Rodney Stuckey. Stuckey's great, but needs to share the ball a little bit more... & Dixon can obviously pass & score more than Stuckey.

hahah okay gooood, i wasnt the only one confused... nba.com said it was the first time they didnt all start together, yahoo.com said that, they mentioned it in the highlights and im like wtf??? am i the only one that doesnt think that stat is right? makes NOOO sense

sheed missed a couple games, rip missed a couple games, and billups missed a couple games this season already... are they on crack??? even last year billups missed like 8 games or something

in my opinion, the three best point guards in the eastern conference are:
1. chauncey billups
2. rajon rondo
3. tayshaun prince

Hey dave, are you okay. Here's mine, (P.S. Tay is not a PG but he can play it)
1.CB#1
2.Jamal Tinsley
3.Rajon Rondo

I was watching the game on nba tv and the pistons played their butts off and I bet it felt really good to have the crowd behind you screaming "DEETROIT BASKETBALL"...priceless.

Did anybody else watch the game on nbatv? Cause those commentators got me mad talking about Chauncey. One man said something like he wasn't here with us tonight due to a family matter. And the other was like you make it seem like he passed away. And then a few minutes later one would say now what did you say about Chauncey not being here with us. Did anybody else here that. It's like they have no good stats on their team so let's have fun and talk about somebody else's team. I'm like grow up

I'd take Jose Calderon and put him number 2 fellas. And I'd like to think that Hinrich is better than Rondo.

1. CB
2. Calderon
3. Hinrich
4. Devin Harris
5. Tinsley
6. Rondo
