The Heat are in Town

The Detroit Pistons vs. The Heat

Detroit is going for their sixth straight win tonight at The Palace against the 9-37 Miami Heat. The Heat are trying to finalize a trade that will send Shaquille O'Neal to The Suns for Shawn Marion and point guard Marcus Banks. Which means your probably not going to see the big fella sitting on the sidelines for this one, since many sources are reporting that he's in Phoenix undergoing a physical to push the deal through.

This is the second meeting between the teams this season, the first going to The Pistons in the season opener. The Pistons have won two in a row and five of the last six contests in the series. Miami has dropped three straight and eight of its last nine trips to the Motor City.

On a side note, Richard Hamilton got his wish to be in the All Start Three Point Shootout. I would really have been upset if he didn't make it considering the Cavs Daniel Gibson was selected.

Tip off is at 7:30 PM and is being televised broadcast locally on myTV20 Detroit. If you can't catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Ticket or stream it live through your computer from their website.

I am heading out early to The Palace to meet with the Winners of The Ultimate Pistons Fan Contest, for our special behind the scenes tour and to enjoy watch The Pistons put their own brand of heat on Miami. So as always, I'm leaving it up to you in the comments or live in the Need4Sheed.com Forum Chat Room.

Thanks again to The Pistons Organization for the making today a special day for some very thankful Pistons fans.

Well, 3 reasons for why the Palace is so empty

1)Today is Ash Wednesday, a lot of people probably went to church. If that's the case, the Pistons must have A LOT of Catholic fans.

2) No one cares about the Heat.

3) The most probable one: the weather.

Either way, I hope fans continue to show up like they did in the Pistons vs. Mavs game.

I've noticed something, whenever Rip has a lot of assists, it's a pretty win, and whenever he doesn't, it's an ugly win.

Sheed only attempted 2 3 pointers today. Did he play a lot in the post? I didn't watch the game. But 26 points and 10 rebounds should be enough to tell Sheed that whatever he's doing, it's working. And what did he get a tech for?

And about the all-star 3pt shooting contest, how does a player get to be in there? It seems like Rip and Kobe just told the press that they want to be in the contest, and voila, they're in. I guess for them, it's more important to beat each other than to win the actual contest.

From NBA.com

... After official Brian Forte called a technical on Wallace, who was complaining about a call against McDyess, the bombastic center had more to say. "He needs to go back to the NBDL or middle school - one or the other,'' Wallace said to veteran official Eddie Rush during a timeout shortly after the technical in the fourth quarter.

I don't know why they chose to include that, but it was great.

And - how the heck did Ricky Davis NOT get a technical tonight?

I am a tad concerned that the Pistons beat Miami by just 5 points. I am really happy that 3 starters had double doubles and Rip and Tay played great even though they didn't get double doubles.

Lets hope we can continue our win streak on Friday vs the Blazers.

just got back from the game and yes, the Palace was empty. That didn't stop the fans who were there from being fantastic! Everyone was loud, and it was a blast. My 1 hour drive to the game took 3 hours, and alot of people showed up as late as the 3rd quarter. Alot of Hondas were being pushed out of the parking lot. It was bedlam.

Where was the need4sheed section, I was looking all over for yall?

Well, Jermaine Oneal wants out of Indy, and i think its time the Pistons make a push for him. I know they are playing great, but I still feel we would be much better with J O.... I dunno how we do it, and i dont want to give up much youth, but i say we give up DYess, Hermann, Brezec, and Flip Murray for Him.... IF there is a way to keep Dyess, lets do it :) In Joe we trust!!
