The Pistons are in The Hoosier State

The Pistons vs. The Pacers

The Pistons are Indiana to take on The 19-26 Pacers tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tip off is at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast locally on FSN Detroit as well as on the radio at WDFN 1130 AM. The Pacers will be without the services of Jermaine O'Neal with a sore left knee and guard Jamaal Tinsley is questionable for tonights game with a sore right knee.

The Pistons have won both games this season against Indiana who would love to end their three game slide tonight at home. Detroit on the other hand have tough games ahead on Thursday against The Lakers and a Sunday contest against Dallas, so a win against the struggling shorthanded Pacers is a must.

I think Sheed wants to tell the Pacers that their small ball doesn't work against the big ball Pistons. He really doesn't like the small ball strategy.

Rip's making me sad with his shooting tonight. Thank God for Sheed though.

Now I know a lot of people bash Flip for his rotations (and I was one of them) but I have been very happy with them tonight.. I mean Amir's already logged 10 minutes out there.. I just see that Rip has played 38mins.. Wow! Nearly whole the game.. Maybe Flip could use Afflalo a bit more to rest Rip in the future

Dyess with another double-double. Good game overall. The not-so-secret ingredient of the night is clearly Sheed.

But something on the sideline, I like how at the end, Afflalo just dribbled the ball to end the game instead of dunking it or making another basket. I think that was really good sportsmanship, as long as they win, there's no need to "humiliate" your opponent by dunking or popping your jerseys or something. And if I remember correctly, Chauncey also dribbled the ball til the end, instead of making a basket at the last game too.

And I remember Natalie saying something about an eerie "Defense" chant, was it the Pacers' that you were talking about? Because I heard it tonight, and it was kinda spooky.

Oh my god, I had the pleasure (?) of watching this game on FSN Indiana via NBA League Pass (FSN Detroit was blacked out... Why?). It was nearly unbearable listening to the way they called the game. It really made me miss Mr. Blaha.

I had a feeling that whole first quarter that it was simply a matter of time before we were going to blow 'em out. That never happened, but it was a nice win anyway. I LOVED the way the Indiana announcers reacted to Sheed's "And One's" and "Hell Naw's."

I know they suck, but don't you just love beating the Pacers?

That was a nice win for the boys, to be able to come from behind. It's gutsy. Nice play for Jarvis too.

And yes, the D-fence chant is very freaky.

Nice game for bench this time around, and not just because Hayes was hitting his shots. Maxiell struggled a little, but Amir put in some really good minutes, and Stuckey did a better job of running the offense.

As always, the Pistons played like the class act they are, unlike the Celtics. I'm looking forward to Samb back with the Mad Ants, too. While that small ball, fast paced scoring festival isn't as useful as NBA time, it's still a chance to play and get experience outside of scrimmages with his team.
