Sheed and Flip are working things out

It seems that Rasheed and Flip Saunders are squashing any kind of "beef" they had in the past. According to the Detroit News, Flip even went so far as to be a guest speaker at Rasheed's Basketball Camp.
"The thing about Rasheed when he reacts, whether it's at me or anybody else, it's out of competitiveness. It's not out of spite," Saunders said. "As I told him, as a coach, I am going to make decisions he might not agree with.

"But one thing I have never done, I have never done anything to disrespect him. The main thing is, he has to be the same way toward his teammates and to me.

That's good news for Pistons fans because we know that Flip is here to stay (at least for the time being).

One thing you might not know about Rasheed is that he does amazing work in the community. He doesn't like to make it known, but he does plenty to give back. Right now he's running his annual Basketball camp for underprivileged kids.

"I just want these kids to learn some basketball and have some fun," Wallace said as he ran the clock and scoreboard for one of the afternoon's full-court scrimmages.

"I want them to laugh and have fun; it's all cool with me."

And if you missed it (like I did) Pistons Forum.com has Rasheed's interview from the Stoney and Wojo show yesterday!

has anyone else thought about the idea of Max playing the three now that he is 230 lbs. I think it's a great idea: he will get more playing time, being able to sub in for either the 3 or the 4, hopefully in the 20 to 25 minute range. I hope he is quick enough to defend the three position as well as Ron Artest does with his 240 lb. body.

It's good news that Sheed and Flip are shaping up the rough edges... I read Flip's interview and he said something that makes A LOT of sense. He said that maybe the younger players will push the core to stop playing as if they had an on/off switch... and I think that's good for the team. J-Maxx is ready to explode, and Stuckey and Afflalo are ready to come out and play too! No more on and off switch! Detroit needs to go back to what helped us win the 'ship... I think we need to go back to giving the NBA 48 MINUTES OF HELL!!!!!!!

Peeps don't get your hopes up on signing Gerald Wallace. He has reportedly resigned with the Bobcats on a six-year, $57 million contract.

I completely agree with you, raul. I loved what Flip had to say and I thought it made perfect sense. Hopefully his beliefs will prove true next season.

"[Give] the NBA 48 minutes of hell."

That should be the Pistons' new slogan. lol

I can't wait to buy some new Pistons' merchandise. There's so much crap I want! Somebody's going to have to take my Visa away. lol
