Pistons Roll Over Sixers 96 - 75

The Pistons, led by Tayshaun Prince, took down the Sixers Tuesday night at The Palace. Flip Murray once again started in the place of Chauncey Billups, who is listed as day by day. Philadelphia, who had just come off of a 50 point loss against the Rockets, kept the game tight until Detroit pulled away in the 3rd quarter and took control.

Key Points:

  • Tayshaun was the player of the game and led the team with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot.
  • Flip Murray continues to play well in Chauncey's absence, putting up 12 points, with 7 assists, a blocked shot and 3 steals.
  • Murray has been working on his D.
  • Flip got Tayshaun a couple of easy dunks early in the game.
  • Surprisingly, Antonio McDyess had 0 points in 19 minutes. He did however grab 6 boards.
  • Maxiell logged 15 minutes and had a nice thunder dunk.
  • Hometown boy Willie Green once again played well against the Pistons, putting up 20 and carrying the Sixers for parts of the game.
  • I like the Sixers new red uniforms.
  • Tayshaun was all over the place. It looks like he's in playoff form already.

  • Chris Webber wasn't feeling well before the game. He scored 9 and logged just 27 minutes.
  • I still don't know why Korver bothers me so much. Maybe it's because he's overrated.
  • Rip Hamilton added 18 points with 3 assists and 2 steals.
  • Rip got banged up a bit right before the half. He ran into Dalembert's knee and tumbled to the ground in pain. It took him a some time to get up. On the very next play he got knocked down again. As Rasheed walked toward him to help him up he grabbed his hand and said.... "Who are you D Wade now?" Classic Sheed.
  • Even though Webber was under the weather he had a couple of nice dunks.
  • Will Blalock got some minutes late in the 4th.
  • Sheed had a couple of long range bombs that pulled the Pistons away for good in the 3rd.

  • Tayshaun seems to have his way with the Sixers. He put up 25 and 33 in The Pistons last two meetings with Philadelphia.
  • The Pistons shot 50% from the floor and had 24 team assists.
  • The Pistons have 4 games in the next 5 days. The next 2 games are against Houston and San Antonio who are both playing well.
  • Washington, Cleveland and Chicago all lost their games Tuesday night. The Pistons still hold the top spot in the east.

You hate Korver because he sucks even though his jersey sells better than anyone on the Pistons.

I am very glad that flip stepped up for us now all thoses who bood him early on in the season will be cheering for him. He has done what we needed most of him in a time where who knows what could have happened with our record. HE has keep us winning and I hope that once hunter is back flip does not sit him back on hte bench becuase that would not be fare to a player who has lead our team to wins when we needed him most.

AS for this game Tay did so well I kinda wish it was going to be philly in the first round just so we can see more of tayshauns shooting.

Anyway a tough two games a head even know flip is doing so well I do hope that chanuney is back we need two points out there.

Prince just absolutely kills us. And the reason you hate the Sixers is that the Pistons always do a great job on him. He never does anything against the Pistons.

I think someone should publish a book containing only 'Sheed quotes. I know I'd buy it! I didn't get to watch the game 'cause I don't get TV20 in my area but I was watching the play by play on ESPN the entire time. I noticed a quick timeout taken by Rip when the Sixers had possession and I read some articles on Pistons.com about how he hurt his thigh. I hope he's going to be okay! We don't want both are starting guards out for this tough road trip. Kudos to Tayshaun for being a beast! I love to see him have an amazing game every once in a while. Here's hoping for another perfect trip. Cheers!

P.S.
I'm glad someone else sees the similarity between Korver and Ashton Kutcher.

lol so before the mavs/cavs game the espn fools were saying how this is a "possible finals preview". im like, ok keep talkin that mess. lets see who's gonna score the next point, im gonna say its lebron. oh look, lebron scored! lebrons scored the last 11 for the cavs! lebron hits the three! lebron makes the layup! lebron makes the dunk! lebron is fouled! lebron hit his head on the floor! give the ball to lebron! THAT is the problem! one playa aint gonn get u that ring! at least stephen a. and tim legler disagreed with that whole possible finals preview statement.

cavs --- three games behind detroit. "ya cant touch us!" lol ahh im in a good mood today. im pretty sure we are gonna beat the rockets tomorrow and the spurs friday. wow all this piston action is fun. i hate days where they dont play. i have nothing exciting to look forward to. oh well.

deeeeetroit basketball
