Bulls Edge Pistons 83-81

Once again the game came down to the wire for The Pistons when Tayshaun Prince tied it up with 9 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately a Carlos Delfino foul sent Kirk Hinrich to the line to shoot three free throws. Hinrich made two of three to make the score 83-81. The Pistons had one last try with 2.8 second left on the clock but Tayshaun's shot didn't fall.

Key Points:
  • Maxiell blocked Ben Wallace on the first play of the game. I really have to get that tattoo don't I.
  • Ben Wallace grabbed 19 boards for the Bulls.
  • No C-Webb or Rip Hamilton.
  • Chauncey's wasn't hitting his shot, he was just 3-for-16 for 12 points.
  • The Pistons got killed on the boards 37-51.
  • It is a shame that Delfino fouled Hinrich with seconds left. Delfino isn't happy, about it since it has happened before. "I feel bad because this isn't the first time it's happened," Delfino said. "It's something that I have to get better at."

  • The Pistons shot 41% from the floor, while the Bulls shot 34%.
  • We could have used C-Webb and Rip.
  • I am surprised McDyess didn't get more touches. He scored 8 and grabbed 10 boards.
  • The Bulls went to the line 10 more times than The Pistons.
  • Sheed put up 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds with 2 assists and a blocked shot.
  • It was a technical foul fest. Rasheed, Chauncey and Flip Saunders each got called.
  • Maxiell blocked 3 and scored 4 points in his 20 minutes on the floor.

  • Tayshaun was great, he put up 26 with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
  • Has anyone noticed all the sloppy passes lately?
  • Ben took Rasheed, Tayshaun, Super Dupe and Lindsey Hunter out to dinner.
  • I am cutting this one short, leave your own points in the comment section.

Yes, the sloppy passes practically cost us the game vs Denver! And I noticed them yesterday as well. Teams are able to predict the high post screen dish to Sheed at the top of the key for a 3 play! Flips gotta get our offense lookin more crisp.

Delfino is learning on the fly. Good to see him get minutes during crunchtime, it will pay off in the long run.

Flip doesn't need to make the offense more crisp, the players need to execute more so.

Does anyone else think that shot that Ben Wallace made off the top of the backboard proves that there is balance in the NBA universe? (meaning those two points were, for lack of a better word, payback to the Sheed 3/4 court OT shot)

Not at all payback...Sheed practices those shots, the Ben Wallace shot was simply a fluke, beyond lucky.

Actually thats 3 mistakes from Delfino. The Houston game could have been a different outcome had he not tried to challenge Yao, and just kicked it out to an open teammate. These types of errors cannot be made in the playoffs.

I was at the game, and it was a well fought battle, but even with us missing two starters the Bulls did not deserve to be in that game. We continue to play down to our competition. Also, the refs made some questionable offensive foul calls and no-calls. Add that to the plethora of technicals called on both teams, and it made for a wacky game. The game definitely meant more to Chicago than it did to us.

that delfino foul was bad, and it did happen in that (pacers game?)but when it did happen and we had time for one more shot I was kind of hoping for a repeat of the Knicks game, but that didn't happen.

Although Tayshaun is one of my favorite Pistons, I don't think he should of been the one to shoot it. Although Tayshaun was hot, look at the fact he's a lefty, and ball was coming from the right side, he had to turn towards the defender coming up from behind him, which didn't allow him to get a good shot off, but hey The thing that gets me through this is knowing the regualar season and the playoffs are different things and that we need to make goofs now so we don't do them later. Don't worry Delfino's gonna make better decisions later, he just needs to disguise what he's going to do more and add some more moves to his game, like a pull up jumper. He's easy to read when he has the ball, but like I said, he'll get better

The Bulls won by 2. 2 points from Ben's rediculous off the top of the backboard bucket, 3 from techs. The game was away, AND played with out their hall-of-famer center or all-star 2 gaurd. I think they plahyed just fine.

We got called for 3 techs they made all there shots and I think we missed one of ours. If there had not have been the techs we would have won the game. I think this was a good game even know we lost, some old fasion d just what the game is missing these days.

delfino needs to go i think its time we ship him out for a late draft pick or a better backup that doesn't foul with seconds left or at least foul Ben Wallace

Dude, delfino is a hustling player and he made some nice shots and I think a 3 late in the game. He does have some polishing to do but he makes some great plays and has tons of potential, plus he's a sexy Argentine.

no i think its dumb people want delfino to get traded just because of what he did at the last second.. this guy has potential.. hes still relatively new.. hes getting better and we cant judge his WHOLE nba career on that last foul.. geeeezzzz

I don't think he needs to be traded he is a good player just keep him off the court at the end of a gmae when it is tied.
