The Isiah Thomas I Remember

These days Isiah Thomas is the butt of many jokes. While Isiah's post playing days have not been ones to measure greatness, his playing days were. I remember seeing Isiah do many amazing things in a Pistons uniform and this performance is one of them. In 1984 against the Bernard King (who for some reason isn't in the Hall of Fame) and The Knicks in the playoffs, Isiah scored 16 points in the last minute and 30 seconds of the game sending it into overtime.

Does anybody know why the Pistons played this game at Joe Louis Arena? In 1984 I could have sworn that the Pistons were playing at the Silverdome. I assumed they got bumped and had to play this playoff series at Joe Louis.

UPDATE
As always Need4Sheed readers come through with answers in a hurry!
No actually, in 1984 there was a scheduling conflict at the Dome because the Pistons hadn't made the playoffs in seven years. I guess the Dome made arrangements assuming they wouldn't make the playoffs that year.

The Silverdome ceiling collapse came the next year in 1985 during the playoffs due to weather. That year Vinnie Johnson scored 20-something points in the fourth quarter against the Champion Celtics.

I'm not 100% positive but if memory serves me right (showing my age) the Silver Dome roof was under repair after a large section of it colapsed after a terrible snow storm.

Isiah Thomas is better than Michael Jordan!

Isiah was a great basketball player because he was surrounded by great players, a trait he shares with Jordan.

But as a basketball executive, he should resign right now!
The man has become a nauseating 2-faced smiling jerk-off whose lies only deceive that other moron, Dolan.
