Air Force 1 The Second Coming Commercial

This is the latest commercial for the 25th Anniversary of the Air Force 1. The commercial features some of Nike's greatest ballers, not to mention the man himself, Rasheed Wallace. Nike contacted me to let me know about the ad campaign, not that they needed to. I was already anxiously awaiting the release of the Limited Edition Air Force 1 Hi Supreme Rasheed Wallace, that drop 03/03/2007 with the price tag of $275.

This is the extended version of the commercial, I will have the behind the scenes video tomorrow.

While your waiting check out www.NikeBasketball.com for more Air Force 1 goodness along with:

I just would like to comment on how completely fabulous your site is. It's informative, original and hilarious. Though people try to bite your style, nobody does it better than Need4Sheed.com. Thanks Natalie

The song is called The Second Coming

The music that was adapted for this song is actually the ancient "Dies Irae" (Latin for "Day of Wrath". It's a 12th century monophonic piece that's been adapted througout the year by various composers like Hector Berlioz for his Symphonie Fantastique and by Wendy Carlos for the opening credits of The Shining (that scary theme).

I credit the song writers for taking this old chant and adding a hip-hop beat to it and rap. The version is slightly re-orchestrated too. I hope Nike will license this song for download on iTunes (I think Nike and Apple are pretty cozy with one another) because I'd buy the song immediately.
