Sign And Trade For Delfino?

A. Sherrod Blakely hints of a sign and trade deal involving Delfino now that the Pistons have Dupree.
There's speculation that Dupree may give the Pistons another athletic player off the bench in case they deal Delfino in a sign-and-trade package. Atlanta's Al Harrington, one of the top free agents still available, is a player the Pistons might pursue. Via MLive.com
Joe Dumars has made plenty of deals this past week, I wouldn't put anything past him. I am still wondering why nothing has been said about Delfino's comments about wanting out of Detroit. Maybe nothing will be said until he's out of here. Time will tell.

Al harrington would be a nice pickup

we've already got plenty of big men, i'm thinking that if al harrinton by some miracle comes to the pistons, then that would mean that davis or cato along with delfino would be moving cities

Cato is a free agent, and no one is interested - least of all him.

What about that G. Hill rumor? If that Happens, I bet we move Delfino and try to keep Acker. That would be a pretty sweat bench and the ultimate irony - GHill returning after Ben jets...

Come on,,why the hell would we want Big nasty or Grant Hill Back..The pistons are going younger not OLDER...IT'S ALL JUST RUMORS...DELFINO IS NOT GOING TO BE TRADED AND HE IS GOING TO BE A MAJOR PART OF THE PISTONS BENCH NEXT SEASON

And another reason why that wouldn't work is because Al Harrington wants to be a starter not a role player. Just remember back when he was with the PACERS....AND PLUS WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER POWER FORWARD ON THE TEAM......STUPID ASS RUMORS...^_^

Harrington plays SF/PF...... and Delfino will not be a major part of anything.

Like i said Harrington wants to start. And he can't play the small forward spot because if he did then they would have to put Prince on the bench and that is never going to happen..And plus Harrington plays inside on the block, his not a outside scorer....POWER FORWARD....

To the person who said "besides, he can't even speak english"... you're an idiot. As if that matters. What a racist thing to say. I hope you die.

Bri, you're right about Harrington wanting to start, but it still doesn't hurt to hope that he could come to the Pistons... I'd still rather have Bonzi Wells though. And Harrington's primary position is PF, but he does play SF, and he can score from outside. Don't rely on him to make 3's, but he has a decent jump shot out to 20ft.

But yeah, he would not settle for backing up Tayshaun/Sheed, and the Pistons would not settle for Tayshaun/Sheed not starting. If the starting 5 was Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Harrington, Sheed though, that's probably the only way he'd want to come to Detroit, with Nazr coming off the bench.

Joe D trades players that don't want to be in Detroit. If Delfino is asking out, Joe will probably grant him his wish... if he feels he can get equal value in return. This might mean Jeff Foster, Anthony Johnson, or Jamaal Magloire. What I'm saying is the Pistons could use Delfino in a multi-team trade that brings someone other than Harrington to Detroit. OR, we could use Delfino plus one of or both of our 1st round picks next year to bring Harrington to Detroit.
PS. Harrington could start over Tay

man forget delfino get his selfish, underachieving ass out of motown so the pistons can get back to being the most hard working team in the nba and win another title the blue collar way

I'd like to respone to the jackass who claims the pistons "ain't GONE win anytime soon" and that Mami "GONE reapeat". There are planty of other retard level mistakes in the post but this isn't a grammar contest. Ok let me restate that so the anonymous poster can understand it.... "Dis aint no word contest"....Ok got it? The Pistons are MUCH better off without Ben. This overrated idiot peaked 2 years ago and if you don't believe me check the stats. ALL he has is athletic ability. Last time I checked, athletic ability is the first thing something called AGE takes away. Look for us to IMPROVE as a quality team in a leauge obsessed with offense and high point totals. As for the heat repeat, I'll make this easy for the slow kids.

1. old, stiff, injury prone Shaq
2. old, stiff, washed up GP
3. Fatass Walker's defense
4. coach Riley's hair
5. Usher courtside

These are all a recipe for disaster and as for D Wade...I just hope the Pistons can hold their breath cause a stiff exhale is known to getyou into foul trouble these days.

my name is KeNNdo and I own a DARKO jersey....out

Al harrington is a great player but would srue up our entire roster. Corliss or grant would be good to back up tay. I just hope that dale, cato and the fob leave d town because they have done nothing for our team. Hopefully we could get something pretty good for those 3 stuges.

WITH THE PLAYERS THEY HAVE, THEY CAN PLAY A MORE UP-TEMPO STYLE OF BASKETBALL NOW

Joey D is a freaking genius for getting Ron back. And also for having a chance to get Al Harrington and bri u don't what your talking about bcuz if we pickup any veteran players that had a chance to be in the finals they could help the rookies and the 2 and 3 year players out and we could be that team that hoists the trophy get a new coach, big nasty super dupree and al harrignton that team would be a beast of the east fa real

9:31 PM, July 18, 2006
Blogger Bri said...

To Lil Tweety, the pistons do not need to add more veterans to the team, they don't need too. We have the veteran player's in Billups, Rip, Lindsay,Dice,Sheed, and Davis to help those first and second year players out. Don't forget about the coaching staff..And plus the pistons don't have no more room on the roster to add veteran players even if they wanted too

THE PISTONS OUR DOING THE RIGHT THING BY HAVING THEIR CORE PLAYERS AND ADDING DIFFERENT PIECES TO THE TEAM. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO RUN UP AND DOWN THE COURT TO WIN GAMES. YOU CAN'T DO THAT IF YOUR WHOLE ROSTER IS FULL OF VETERANS. THAT IS WHY MIAMI IS NOT GOING TO REPEAT, THEY ARE TO OLD AND THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THE PISTONS.

delfino needs to get his pretty boy ass out of detroit. we all know what we do to fags down in the "D". Joe d needs to pick his fatass of his GM chair and go sign Al harrington, a backup for rip. he averages 18 ppg in atl(which that team sucks ass) rip averages 20 ppg with the pistons and the pistons are the best team in the nba. Al is a great player who has a good chance of starting in place of rip, give me feed back.
